Top Ways to Stay Motivated During IIT JEE Preparation

Preparation for IIT JEE requires lot of hard work and determination. You have to be ready to even go through many sleepless nights to finish the vast JEE syllabus. But simply completing the syllabus is not enough! If you want to have an edge over your counterparts you need to step up your game. This means practicing and revising diligently while following a meticulous study plan that recognizes your strengths and takes care of all your weaknesses. You have to constantly motivate yourself to keep pushing until that exam date.
Let’s take a look at some of the top ways that you can keep yourself motivated as you prepare for IIT JEE.

Positive self-affirmation

Whenever you get stuck trying to understand or solve a problem, you tend to feel demotivated. You even start to feel like dropping the subject. At that point, you need to remind yourself that all the students who are preparing for JEE are going through the same struggle. You need to tell yourself that you can’t quit. Instead, identify the real problem that is stopping you from moving forward and devise the best way to make the most of your time and effort.

Learn from others’ mistakes

There are no such things as failures; only lessons learnt. Mistakes happen, and the only way to get anything out of them is to learn from them, be it your own mistakes or someone else’s. No matter the fall, you need to pick yourself up, dust yourself off and continue walking (or studying, in this case). Ignoring your mistakes won’t help either. Come to terms with them and be determined ot never make them again.

Be self-driven

Find out what drives you. You yourself are the best person to do that. Once you identify your drive, it gets easier to deal with the struggles, mistakes, etc. You need to know that you can count on yourself to deal with whatever curve balls the exam throws at you. In fact, knowing that will make you more motivated.

Be in good company

Both positive and negative energy can be infectious so keep away from any negative energy. If you are amidst good company, it’s just natural that you will be in good spirits. Make sure you surround yourself with strong-willed, self-driven people and you will find that just being in their midst is motivating enough.

Reward yourself daily

Keep a daily goal; it could be that you finish a certain topic that day or maybe you solve a set of difficult problems that day. Once you accomplish your goal, reward yourself with little treats. It could be an ice-cream or 30 minutes of that English sitcom you love so much. Whatever it is, take some time at the end of the day to reward yourself. This will rejuvenate your mind and sub-consciously encourage you to achieve daily goals.
